Lewis Moody MBE

Former England Rugby Captain and World Cup Winner Lewis Moody MBE is the latest elite sportsperson to visit Feltonfleet, following in the footsteps of Team GB Olympic Gold Medallists, Rower Alex Gregory MBE and Hockey players Georgie Twigg MBE and Susannah Townsend MBE.

Lewis Moody will meet pupils from Feltonfleet’s 1st Teams when he attends as Guest of Honour and Keynote Speaker at the Annual Sports Review of the Year and Awards Dinner to be held this Friday 7th June.

With 71 caps for his country and a host of accolades to his name, including three Lions caps, a World Cup Winner’s Medal, two Six Nations titles, seven Premiership triumphs and two Heineken Cup wins, this former England Captain is a true rugby world legend and an inspiration for our aspiring young sportsmen and women.

Having retired from rugby in 2012, Lewis will share some of his experiences and offer words of advice in his closing speech following the presentation of Feltonfleet’s Sports Awards for the year.  The invited audience includes pupils from Year 7 and 8 who have represented the school at 1st Team level this year, along with their proud parents and staff.  Several of the award recipients have won Sports Scholarships to their chosen Senior Schools.

Ed Smith, Director of Sport, commented, "Having inspirational athletes, like Lewis, take part in our Sporting Review of the Year is fantastic. He is a genuine role model to all children, not only for his sporting performances, but also for his incredible charity work".

We look forward to a wonderful evening.

Our Year 7 pupils delivered an incredible performance of Return to the Forbidden Planet this week. The crew of the Starship Albatross took us on a thrilling space adventure in this sci-fi production, inspired by Shakespeare’s The Tempest and infused with 1950s rock ‘n’ roll. Their talent and teamwork were truly outstanding. Well done, Year 7! #FeltonfleetYear7 #FeltonfleetPerformingArts

This week, we are proud to support Neurodiversity Celebration Week, a global initiative that challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences. Throughout the week, we will be engaging our pupils in discussions about neurodiversity, helping them to better understand and appreciate the strengths that come with different ways of thinking and learning. Additionally, our Learning Enrichment department is hosting a Parent Support Group, providing a relaxed and informal space for parents interested in neurodiversity to connect and share experiences. By celebrating neurodiversity, we are nurturing a culture of acceptance, inclusion, and understanding - helping all our pupils to embrace differences and champion each other's strengths. #FeltonfleetWhereIndividualsReallyMatter #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek #NCW
