Lots of Fun with our Favourite Characters from Books
Back to NewsThe school was buzzing on Friday 24th November, with our exciting Charity Readathon, organised by our Charity Committee.
Pupils and staff were invited to dress up as their favourite book character and send in a donation to raise money for our school charity, Feed and Read. An amazing £1100 was raised for this excellent charity, which is run by our Head Groundsman, John Vaughan-Davies and his brother, to help people in Africa who are not as fortunate as ourselves.
The school was ablaze with colour as we spotted all sorts of fantastic characters and imaginative outfits. The Headmaster came as Danny the Champion of the World, the Junior Staff dressed up as Where’s Wally, and our Head of Pre-Prep looked spectacular as Fiona from Shrek, alongside Miss Bray who dressed up as Shrek!
In the afternoon, pupils read, either by themselves, or the older pupils listened to and helped the younger pupils read.
All in all, it was an enjoyable and fun day and a fantastic effort to raise money for this great charity, which aims to relieve poverty in Africa by providing education and training in small scale agricultural production to enable individuals to generate a sustainable income, food security, job creation and skills development and be self-sufficient.
