U12 Rugby Sevens Success

On Wednesday 21st February, the U12 Sevens team travelled to Aldro to start our 2018 Rugby Sevens campaign. 

With only a few training sessions under our belt we knew that the first competitive tournament was going to be a real learning opportunity.  Feltonfleet had three group games and a further two games in the second phase of the competition. 

We narrowly lost our first two games, but learnt from each experience which generated confidence and synergy. The boys played really well in their last group game, beating New Beacon. This set the conditions for a really impressive second phase, beating Cranmore and Sevenoaks to complete a genuinely successful afternoon by winning the Aldro Vase!

The learning outcomes were evident and the team grew remarkably throughout the day. All ten boys had lots of game time, and Freddie D lead the team from the front with an outstanding defensive and distribution game. 

We look forward to hosting the next tournament at Feltonfleet on 3rd March 2018.
