Exciting new sports facilities begin taking shape
Back to NewsThe school may have been closed to pupils for the half-term holidays, but the work continues for our dedicated team of support staff ensuring that we continue to provide the best possible facilities and centres for learning for our pupils.
We are delighted to announce that, during the break, groundworks began for a new MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) that will enhance our excellent sporting facilities.
The 40m x 22m area will feature a high performance, ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board) approved all weather surface, and is located alongside the Cricket Pavilion on our Prep School site.
As well as offering cricket lanes for bowling and batting practise, the MUGA will be used for all main sports including hockey, netball, football, tennis, PE activities and other general fitness training. All year groups will have access to the MUGA and it has a design that will offer the school the most flexibility whilst enhancing our all year round sports and after school clubs provision.
The Prep School MUGA is expected to be completed in the spring along with a second MUGA located on the Pre-Prep site.
These sports facility developments come in addition to approved plans for a brand new future technology-focussed STEM Centre to be located adjacent to our modern Science laboratories and classrooms. Work is expected to commence in Spring 2023 and, once complete, will be followed by the creation of a new Literary Centre including a brand new Library, open plan classroom and study breakout areas.
Commenting on the planned developments, Headmistress Shelley Lance said, "Feltonfleet pupils are shaped in lasting ways by the experiences they have both inside and outside the classroom. We are confident that the development plans and the ambitious steps we are taking to invest in new facilities over the next two years will provide Feltonfleet boys and girls with the highest level of educational provision."
